- Draft Land Transport Rule: Land Transport (Road User) Amendment Rule [2009] proposes changes to the Land Transport (Road User) Rule 2004, which sets out requirements for the safe and efficient user of roads by road users – driver, riders, passengers, pedestrians and those leading or droving animals.

- Draft New Zealand national minimum standard for urban buses aims to enhance the attractiveness of urban public transport vehicles in order to encourage increased usage, with a particular emphasis on improving accessibility.

- Draft Land Transport Rule: Omnibus Amendment 2008 contains proposals to change requirements in a number of existing Land Transport Rules.

- Draft Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Equipment (Noise) Amendment [2009] proposes changes to the noise testing requirements for vehicles. The Rule is aimed particularly at vehicles with modified exhausts that are not complying with the current noise requirements.

- Draft Land Transport Rule: Steering Systems Amendment [2009] proposes to revise the requirements applying to the certification and use on New Zealand roads of left-hand drive vehicles and to ensure that the process is effective, is not open to abuse, and is free of unnecessary requirements and anomalies.

- Draft Land Transport Rule: Traction Engines [2008] sets out requirements relating to qualifications to be held by users of traction engines and for vehicle certification.

- Draft Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Equipment (Immobilisers) Amendment [2008] requires, that from the implementation of the Rule, new and used light passenger vehicles with nine or fewer seats, and less than eight years old, imported into New Zealand, must be fitted with an immobiliser in order to be entry-certified.

- Operator Licensing Amendment Rule: Comments are sought on proposed amendments to Land Transport Rule: Operator Licensing 2007 (the Operator Licensing Rule). It is the first amendment of the Rule and contains five proposed changes.

- Draft Fuel Consumption Information Rule: Comments are sought on this proposed Rule which sets out requirements for the collection of information about the fuel consumption of light vehicles in the New Zealand fleet.

- Draft revision of RTS 14 guidelines: Comments are now sought on draft revised guidelines for facilities that assist blind and vision impaired pedestrians (RTS 14). (Submissions closed on 18 January 2008).
- Whole of vehicle marking gazette notice 2008: Land Transport plans to publish a notice in the NZ Gazette in late January 2008 that will activate a legal requirement for whole of vehicle marking to commence on 1 July 2008. (Submissions closed on 21 December 2007)
- Draft Level crossings guideline. Guidelines being prepared for the new Manual for traffic control devices. Based on existing policies, these guidelines will provide practitioners with insights into the requirements of both rail and road when they meet at level crossings. - Omnibus Amendment [2007]. Proposed amendments to existing Land Transport Rules made under the Land Transport Act 1998. (Submissions closed on 14 September 2007)
- Draft Parking control guideline.
A new manual for traffic control devices is being developed by Land Transport NZ to replace many existing New Zealand-based
resources, in particular the Manual of Traffic Signs and Markings. This first installment is about parking control. (Submissions closed on 27

- Draft Vehicle exhaust emissions [2007]. Replacing measures in Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Exhaust Emissions 2006 (the
2006 Rule), this proposed Rule forms part of the Government’s initiatives for improving air quality.
